Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer sessions in person or virtually?
I work with clients both in person in west Denver, and virtually over Zoom. I also offer in-home visits for families in the immediate postpartum.
How often do we meet?
For all new clients, I require a minimum 3-session commitment. Repetition matters in this work — we’re often meeting patterns that have been in place for years, and consistency is essential for true change. I recommend meeting weekly.
While you may notice shifts after just one session, lasting transformation at the nervous system level typically requires more time. Most clients find that 10 sessions is a supportive amount to plan for.
If you're working with a recent specific event — such as a difficult birth or a recent accident — fewer sessions may be sufficient. We'll collaborate to find a rhythm and pace that serves your system best.
What can I expect in a session?
This work is somatic, experiential, and slow by design. We begin by building a foundation of safety and resourcing — helping your body access sensations of ease and goodness. From there, we gently explore the emotions, sensations, and patterns held in your system, allowing them to unfold at your body’s pace. Sessions are typically 50 minutes long.
Sessions are dialogue-based, but not like traditional talk therapy. I’ll guide you to notice body sensations, emotions, impulses, and inner imagery.
In-person sessions may include gentle, therapeutic hands-on touch to support nervous system regulation and integration. This touch is always consensual, attuned, and used only when it serves the renegotiation process.
What kinds of issues or themes do you work with?
I work with a wide range of experiences including anxiety, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, birth trauma, early attachment wounds, difficulty trusting yourself, disconnection from the body, transitions in motherhood, and the desire to live in deeper alignment with your authentic truth.
How is this different from talk therapy?
This work is body-led rather than story-led. While traditional therapy often emphasizes insight and analysis, somatic coaching focuses on how experience lives in the body. Instead of just talking about the issue, we slow down to feel what's present — in the nervous system, the breath, the tissue — allowing old patterns to shift from within.
What if I don’t feel anything in my body?
That’s completely okay — and a very common starting point. Disconnection from the body is often a survival response. This work meets you exactly where you are, with no pressure.
Together, we gently build your capacity to feel and notice — starting with breath, tension, temperature, or even numbness. There’s no “right” way to begin. We go at your pace.
Do you work with parents or families?
Yes — I work closely with many parents and caregivers. Because children are so attuned to the nervous systems of their caregivers, working with the adult — especially the primary caregiver — can create profound shifts in the family field. This work supports you in tracking shared regulation, healing early patterns, and bringing more presence and attunement into your relationships.
Children don’t need perfect parents — they need present ones. By supporting your own nervous system regulation, you naturally create a more grounded, connected space for your child to thrive.
Do you work with children or babies?
I do not work directly with older children, because their behaviors often reflect the larger family system. Working with the parent or caregiver tends to be more impactful than working with the child in isolation.
I do work with babies — especially in the first months of life — offering gentle, therapeutic touch to support their nervous system development, co-regulation, and embodiment. These sessions help babies settle into their bodies, recover from difficult births, and deepen connection with their caregivers.
All baby sessions include and involve the parent, supporting the dyad as a whole. I also teach parents how to use their own listening touch — a form of attuned, non-invasive touch that helps them better synchronize with their baby, listen through their hands, and strengthen the bond of co-regulation and trust. This work is subtle, sacred, and deeply supportive for both baby and parent.
What is your style as a practitioner?
People often describe me as steady, grounded, and nurturing. I bring a calm, attuned presence to our work, creating a welcoming space where your system can begin to soften, trust, and unfold.
I offer both deep care and loving challenge. I’ll meet you exactly where you are — while also gently guiding you toward the parts of yourself that may feel uncomfortable, unfamiliar, or long hidden. I will work with you at your edges, pushing you towards shifts in an attuned and loving way.
I believe that transformation begins with acceptance — seeing things as they are, without judgment — and from there, orienting toward something new. I’m here to support you in creating change from the inside out, at the pace your body can safely hold.
Who is this work for?
This work is for you if:
You feel stuck, anxious, or disconnected from yourself
You’re craving more safety and presence in your body
You want to heal deep-rooted patterns, trauma, or conditioning
You’ve tried talk therapy but feel something is still missing
You’re a parent, space-holder, or cycle-breaker doing your own inner work
You’re ready to turn toward yourself with honesty, curiosity, and care
What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching and therapy can overlap, but there are important distinctions. Therapy is often focused on diagnosis, pathology, and treating acute mental health conditions, while Somatic Experiencing and Coaching does not involve diagnosis or clinical treatment.
That said, my approach is trauma-informed, and many clients experience outcomes similar to therapy — including greater emotional regulation, relief from long-held patterns, and a deeper connection to self.
This work supports the nervous system in moving toward more wholeness, freedom, and choice, and can be a powerful complement or alternative to more traditional forms of healing.
What happens between sessions?
Integration is an essential part of this work. I may offer you gentle practices, reflection prompts, or somatic tools to explore between sessions — but nothing overwhelming or prescriptive.
My goal is to help you begin noticing your nervous system in real time, so that the shifts we make together continue to unfold in daily life.
Is this trauma therapy?
While this work is deeply trauma-informed and often brings healing to traumatic imprints, it is not a replacement for clinical therapy or psychiatric care. For some, a licensed mental health provider may be a better fit.
My work is grounded in Somatic Experiencing, pre- and perinatal work, and nervous system regulation. If you’re unsure whether this is the right fit, let’s talk about it on a discovery call.
How do I get started?
I offer a free 25-minute discovery call to explore whether this work feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure — just space for connection, questions, and listening to what’s most alive in you.
